Praise for the Cassie Scot Series

From Publisher’s Weekly:

“Amsden continues the story of the only mundane member of a supernaturally-gifted family in this middling sequel to Cassie Scot: ParaNormal Detective. Cassie, stubborn and proud, is bravely trying to live on her own after her family disowns her. Struggling to make ends meet, she accepts a case involving a pair of magical girls who disappeared from summer camp. With the aid of the handsome Evan Blackwood, to whom Cassie is attracted despite her family’s disapproval and her own better judgment, she follows the trail of the missing girls. What she finds is a dark side of the magical world, and the hidden depths of her family’s past force her to reconsider long-held assumptions. The growing complexity of Cassie’s world makes this an entertaining installment, focusing as much on the will-they, won’t-they romantic chemistry between Cassie and Evan as on the primary mystery. An inconclusive ending is clearly intended to feed into the next volume.”

Kim Falconer, bestselling author of The Spell of Rosette, Quantum Enchantment Series, had this to say:

“When sorcerers call the shots, what’s a girl without powers to do? Get ready for a ripper of a murder mystery full of romance and intrigue, where magic potions bubble, passions spark and vampires are definitely not your friend. Cassie Scot: ParaNormal Detective grabs you by the heart and won’t let go until the very last page. Well written, immersive and unputdownable. This is urban fantasy at its best. More please!”

Young American painter Theodora Faraday struggles to become an artist in Belle Époque Paris. She’s tasted the champagne of success, illustrating poems for the Revenants, a group of poets led by her adored cousin, Averill. When children she knows vanish mysteriously, Theo confronts Inspecteur Michel Devaux who suspects the Revenants are involved. Theo refuses to believe the killer could be a friend—could be the man she loves. Classic detection and occult revelation lead Michel and Theo through the dark underbelly of Paris, from catacombs to asylums, to the obscene ritual of a Black Mass. Following the maze of clues they discover the murderer believes he is the reincarnation of the most evil serial killer in the history of France—Gilles de Rais. Once Joan of Arc’s lieutenant, after her death he plunged into an orgy of evil. The Church burned him at the stake for heresy, sorcery, and the depraved murder of hundreds of peasant children. Whether deranged mind or demonic passion incite him, the killer must be found before he strikes again.

Review:

If I'm gonna talk honestly I wasn't expect  nothing for this book. I totally have no idea how did I started to reading this book but I did.. Last week I lost my grandma and I have to go her village immediately with my family. Yesterday I came back to my home. And I started to read my emails and opened my mails.Anyways lets started to disscuss the book.

Like I said I wasn't expect anything. Because it was a kind of new genre to me.  I usually don't read Horror with Mystery or Historical or both but I read. I think I like it. I like it when you came to Paris to become an Artist. But there something going on and you twisted to Sherlock Holmes right away.. The End was surprised me but  it's fitting the story. Also in the same time I'm sad that Averill not happy. I wished him happy :/

All Art,sacrifices, mystery and others made me realized different things. Yves Fey did a great job on this book. I'm glad to reading this one.

Excerpt :

Theo studied Inspecteur Devaux again. The quiet he had put on like a mask was intriguing, even a little sinister. How could you capture those layers in a portrait? First, she had seen a hunter, prowling. Next he was the public official, respectful, but expecting respect as well. The tension, the intentness, were well hidden, but there. He had an interesting face, wedge-shaped with high cheekbones. A strong nose and chin framed refined lips. His ash brown hair revealed chestnut when the sun touched it. Under straight brows, cool grey eyes were tinted with warm green. He was handsome in a severe way. She wondered what he looked like when he smiled.

He was regarding her just as directly now, and she felt like squirming. The artist in her was always studying people too closely. Curious to think how similar, yet how different, it must be to look at the world through a detective’s eyes.

“I have an errand—chocolate éclairs.” She smiled, apologetic, flustered. “There’s really nothing more I can tell you. If I don’t hurry, the bakery will close.”

“Merci beaucoup, Mlle. Faraday,” he said, then resumed his exploration of the passage.

He says he's here to save me, but can I trust him? All I know of him are his sarcastic retorts and his tendency to solve every dispute with his gun. #Giveaway & Review: Captivate Me by S.J. Pierce

Captivate Me
S.J. Pierce
Publication date: April 1st 2014
Genres: Paranormal Romance, Young Adult

“My mom had always told me – when you meet “the one”, you’ll know; they’ll captivate your heart the moment you lay eyes on them. I had always wondered, though, if my mom’s words of wisdom were finite – if they applied to everyone. Maybe those who had found their one great love were the lucky few, and maybe the rest of us would have to settle for less than earth-shattering.”
Seventeen-year-old Kat Walsh is a Gifted – a human with paranormal abilities. With her mom a former Angel and her dad a dream prophet, it’s always been in her genetic make-up to be extraordinary. But, unfortunately for her, the world can’t handle the strange or unusual. So when she slips up and uses her powers at her high school in Ireland, the entire student body treats her like a freak – even the ones she thought were her closest friends.
Broken, but hopeful for a fresh start, she allows her parents to enroll her in a boarding school buried deep within the forests of a small Colorado town. At Midland Pines, School for the Gifted, she feels as though she can finally be herself; she makes new friends and even has the attention of the most popular guy in school – Levi. Everything feels normal again… or does it?
Not long after her arrival, weird dreams of an alluring boy whom she’s never met surface during the night, and the eerie, shadowy trees encircling their school seem to call to her. As these disturbing, yet enticing developments intensify, other bizarre occurrences happen – students and staff turn up missing, and mystery visitors leave gifts while she sleeps. With all of these other things fighting for her attention, a desperate Levi has to fight even harder to keep her interest. But with the dreams of the attractive boy slowly captivating her heart, Kat has to make a choice – will she settle for ‘great’ Levi, or will she search for her elusive dream visitor, possibly stumbling across ‘amazing’?
From the author of the Alyx Rayer Chronicles, comes a refreshingly different Young Adult series with plenty of love, suspense, and a new take on the Paranormal.
Recommended for readers 16 and up due to mature content.

Nearly drowning at the beach due to unknown forces, one of the Grand brothers she’d just met, Mason, saves her life. Cool, collected, mysterious, and dangerously good-looking, Skylar is drawn to him from the start. Though she knows he is the type of guy good girls stayed away from, it seems he is always saving her life, and the attraction was inevitable.

Upon meeting the brothers, strange things begin to happen. When she accidentally kills one of the brothers, it throws her life into turmoil, as they search to find the answers. Implausibly, she gets caught up in a world of the decedents of ancient gods, all who have super powers. Not only is her discovery difficult to accept, evil beings are after her. Running out of time and running for her life, she must unravel a mystery. What do they want from her? Forced into a battle set into motion long before she was born, will she find the answers, or will she die trying?

REVIEW:

I won this awesome novel from Mary's one of giveaways.

This is the third book I read from Mary's work. I wish I read this so long ago. But also I'm glad I read now.
This book absolutely hooked all of my brain! Some of people who knows me,know that I really love mythology <3 since I was a little girl. I read so many books about mythology most of them was sucked the story. I don't try the be the mean person I only want to be honest. But I'm here to talk about this book.

From Gods has a amazing entering. I always have weakness for reading a fatherless life.

'' I started to calm down after seeing the beauty of the night, taking in a deep breath. “Is he… dead?” My fists were tight as I prepared for the news. “No, honey. Daddy isn’t dead. It’s just that he’s never coming back. I don’t have a reason to give you.” ''

Skylar about to start college but before that she's gonna spend her summer time with her cousin like always. But This summer Skyler and her cousin Kayla meets two hot boys. Mason and Nik. And this meeting chances everything.
Mason and Nik and their other half brothers is the descendants of the Greek gods.

The big question is Who is Skylar? She can see things like Mason and his brothers. So What is she? Where's her father and Who is he?

I thinks this is the best thing I read in 2014.Entering was so great that I already felt this is a really good book. I'm so curious about what is her descendants? Because the oracle said she's keeper of death. So she could be Hades's daughter or something but Zeus and Posedion only distribute their offsprings without telling Hades. So he was mad when he learn the distribute and that's why he haunting these descendants. But Maybe he distribute his offsprings too. We,fans still don't know but I and every fan so curious about second book :)

#Giveaway&Review : Saving Rain by Karen-Anne Stewart

Rain Trilogy Karen-Anne Stewart

Furious with herself for actually having chosen someone like her father, she uses that anger to her advantage and fights for her life...and for her future that she prays will involve the man she can't seem to get out of her head. Kas is a natural leader, a fierce  fighter, the type of man you send in when you need to get the job done. He is a courageous hero who is used to risking his own life to save others, but can he save the one who has captured his heart from her horrific past and the men who are hell-bent on destroying her? As Kas and Raina try to navigate through the twists and turns of a deviously intelligent human trafficking group, they find solace in each other's arms. Can they infiltrate the trafficker's tight ring, saving the innocent lives from imminent danger before it's too late?

***Disclaimer: Due to sensitive issues of abuse, human trafficking, and mature scenes, The Rain Trilogy is intended for readers 18+. Although Saving Rain does not include 'mature' scenes, the final two novels do.

Review:
It was a pretty intense book. It is very sad and heartbreaking what Raina has had thru with her life.
I have to admit, I kind of hate reading a book like this. I mean reading human traffick things. Cuz I will always be so sad and I'll alway think about those things and NEVER SLEEP.
Despite that, theme was good but not orginal. Writing style was good but kind of confusing.
Also this book categorized NA but I think this is too heavy for New Adult.
In the end the thing ;I liked most is Kas. If he wasn't in there I couldn't give 4 STAR.
