Angelfall by Susan Ee

BLURB;
It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

 “Angels are violent creatures.”
“So I noticed. I used to think they were all sweet and kind.”
“Why would you think that? Even in your Bible, we’re harbingers of doom, willing and able to destroy entire cities. Just because we sometimes warned one or two of you beforehand doesn’t make us altruistic.”

When I saw this book The name of book  I thought YAY I want to read Angels, I love to read Angel stories.I begin the book because of name. The book Published in 2011 but I read in 2012.

I'm not even sure how to go about reviewing this because I cannot find any words to fit this ..ART! It was amazing. It was Brilliant,Wonderful,Marvelous,Fantastic and many more words I can count. There are lots and lots of dystopian, apocalyptic and angel YA books out there right now. Most of them has had a great first book of their series. But if I line up these books, Angelfall is first.
Angelfall made me squirm and it made me laugh. It made me cheer on the main characters and feel angry at all the bad guys.
Susan Ee is a phenomonal author creating an amazing new take on the angel/nephillum story line - with a darker edge to it. The plot is so well put together so that you can't help but simply fall into it.

First begining I love the writing style. It's so easy to read. I love Penryn begining. I loved because I saw myself in the book. She loves her sister so much also She loves her mother too. I think Penryn is The Father of the family. She take care of everything. In 6 weeks everything changed...the Angels fall down from the sky and started to destroy our world.
From exterminating humans or capturing them to their will, they caused drastic natural phenomenons, tsunamis, tornadoes, earthquakes, adding to the destruction.
Penryn is a young girl with a little sister in a wheelchair and a schizophrenic psychotic mother, who frequently believes that demons possess her, and who in one of her moments of clarity makes Penryn learn all sorts of martial arts so she could defend herself from dear mom.
One night when the family tries to find a safe house, they stumble on to a fight between angels. Accidently helping one of them, Penryn enrages the other who snatches her sister and flies away.
Now she has only one goal, - find her sister no matter what. Penryn half enlists half forces Raffe, the injured angel she saved to help her, and while they travel through dark deserted lands and fight for their survival, an unexpected friendship develops...
There are a lot of horrifying moments in this book, it's very intense and action-packed. Penryn is driven by her rage, fear and love, and she makes a very strong and appealing character.

What if the angels had their own agenda? What if the Messenger of God wasn't actually delivering God's will by destroying the world? Why would angels snatch people?

If you never ever read this book, you can't count yourself as a Avid Reader.

  2. Sounds like a well used cliche but I could not put this book down! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. At times I felt like I should check the sky outside. In my opinion it would make an excellent movie if done by the right director and if you have read it and enjoyed it, think about who could play the characters....I've got my choice for Raffe!
Highly recommended Bellevue Janitorial Services company
