Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead

Welcome To St.Vladimir (Vampire) Academy

“By the way, my name's Rose Hathaway. I'm seventeen years old, training to protect and kill vampires, in love with a completely unsuitable guy, and have a best friend whose weird magic could drive her crazy.
Hey, no one said high school was easy.”
from the frostbite

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Vampire Academy sucked me right back into the vampire world. I was a bit of a vampire addict a few years ago, but with all the Hollywood hype and television shows, vampires seemed to be everywhere. My heart needed a break from the genre to build some darkness and mystery back into the vampire lore. I believe I found the right series to spark up my love again!
I was very excited when I finally got my hands on this book. I've been hearing a lot of positive reviews about the series, and I wanted badly to start reading them. So did it,I read. And I love it!!!
If you not read yet,COME ON you have to!

For two years, Rose Hathaway and Vasilisa “Lissa” Dragomir, escaped from St. Vladimir’s Academy to go into hiding, but they were soon discovered by the school’s guardians and were brought back to the academy. Little does anyone know Rose took her best friend Lissa out of the academy because there was a great danger being posed against Lissa and only Rose can protect her from the forces
of evil. I really loved the world that Rose and her friends live in as they all go to a school for vampires or more specifically, a school for Dhampir and Moroi students and that really brings
out the creativity in this novel. Now, my favorite part of the book were the characters as they were all interesting, but the two characters in this book that were my favorites were Rose Hathaway and Russian guardian, Dimitri Belikov. Rose Hathaway was such an awesome heroine because she is extremely brave and independent and even though I sometimes found her hot temper to be a
little annoying at times, it is because she tries to protect her best friend Lissa from danger. That is another aspect that I loved about Rose because she is always willing to put her life on the line to
keep her friend Lissa safe and that just proves what a true friend Rose is. I also loved how Rose always provides humor for the story as she is always making wisecracks about the situations
around her and I especially loved her inner thoughts on taking care of the school bullies, which unfortunately involves her beating them up. Now onto the hero and that is Dimitri Belikov!
Dimitri was one hero that is so hot and awesome at the same time and I loved the scenes
of him fighting off anyone who tries to harm Rose! I also loved the mysterious and dark
attitude that he seems to give off towards everyone around him, but he also has a heart of
gold and I loved the moments where he smiles at Rose and shows genuine concern for her safety.
It just makes me feel so tingly inside every time he shows kindness towards Rose!

Dimitri: "She might be wild and disrespectful, but if she has potential—"
Rose: "Wild and disrespecful? Who the hell are you anyway? Oursourced help?"
Kirova: "Guardian Belikov is the Princess Lissa's guardian now, her sanctioned guardian."
Rose: "You got cheap foreign labor to protect Lissa?”

Rose loves Dimitri, Dimitri might love Tasha, and Mason would die to be with Rose...

It’s winter break at St. Vladimir’s, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy’s crawling with Guardians—including Rose’s hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn’t bad enough, Rose’s tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason’s got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa’s head while she’s making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy’s not taking any risks... This year, St. Vlad’s annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.

But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price...

the strigoi (bad vamps) are out to kill the moroi (good vamps) again-- and this time they are targeting the royal families. Lissa Dragomir is the last in her royal clan, and Rose needs to protect her best friend as more and more families end up being brutally murdered. The students are moved to a luxurious ski resort to hide out until the culprits are hunted down. Meanwhile, Rose and Dmitri's forbidden romance flares up again, even though they're both trying to move on...
I was really impressed by how clearly and strongly Rose's thoughts and emotions came through in this book-- her bitter frustration and anger towards her guardian mother (who left her when she was little), her confusion over whether to just go with Mason (her friend who's pretty much head-over-heels for her), and her inability to stop thinking about Dmitri (her off-limits older but insanely hott trainer).

Speaking of, I really liked how Rose's "forbidden" relationship developed with Dmitri in this one. It is so obvious that they're still completely into each other, even though they both try to deny it and find other distractions! I love the tension that has built up between them, and then of course there's the whole thing with bad-guy Adrian (who also happens to be, *gasp!*, incredibly hott).
Frostbite allows the readers to delve deeper into his personality as Rose does. He becomes less of a mystery and Rose gets to know him beyond the obvious chemistry. There are scenes where they are able to talk as friends rather than student/teacher or potential love interests. This is important in making this forbidden relationship more realistic and root-worthy for readers.

“You can't force love, I realized. It's there or it isn't. If it's not there, you've got to be able to admit it. If it is there, you've got to do whatever it takes to protect the ones you love.”

It's springtime at St. Vladimir's Academy, and Rose Hathaway is this close to graduation. Since making her first Strigoi kills, Rose hasn't been feeling quite right. She's having dark thoughts, behaving erratically, and worst of all... might be seeing ghosts.

As Rose questions her sanity, new complications arise. Lissa has begun experimenting with her magic once more, their enemy Victor Dashkov might be set free, and Rose's forbidden relationship with Dimitri is starting to heat up again. But when a deadly threat no one saw coming changes their entire world, Rose must put her own life on the line - and choose between the two people she loves most.

This was one of the craziest book endings I've ever read, and I am really understanding now why everyone is so in love with this series!
First of all, I was so happy to finally see Dmitri and Rose get together, after holding back on their feelings for each other because of their duty as guardians to the Moroi. We all knew that they were meant to be together, and it's so satisfying to see things finally happen between them! Of course, their relationship takes a huge turn for the worst (to say the least) but still, I'm glad that I got to see them have the chance to at least let each other know how much they love and care about one another.
hadow Kiss continues the story of the main character, Rose Hathaway and her education in becoming a Guardian. Rose knows it is forbidden to love another guardian. Her best friend Lissa- the last Dragomir princess- must always come first. Unfortunately, when it comes to gorgeous tutor Dimitri Belikov, some rules are meant to be broken... Including school rules and the law when she takes her romance with Dimitri to the next step... love.
Then a strange darkness begins to grow in Rose's mind and ghostly shadows warn of a terrible evil drawing nearer to the Academy's iron gates. The immortal undead are closing in, and they want vengeance for the lives Rose has stolen. In a heart stopping battle to rival her worst nightmares, Rose will have to choose between love, life and the two people who matter the most... But will her choice mean that only one can survive?

No," Dimitri interrupted gently. He moved his face toward mine, our foreheads nearly touching. "It won't happen to you. You're too strong. You'll fight it, just like you did this
time.
"
"I only did because you were here." He wrapped his arms around me, and I buried my face in his chest. "I can't do it by myself," I whispered.
"You can," he said. There was a tremulous note in his voice. "You're strong—you're so, so strong. It's why I love you.”

How far will Rose go to keep a promise?

The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them... including Dimitri.

He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

The third book of the vampire academy series left all of us hanging. All of us wanting more. & all of us with the same question, what happened to dimitri?! Blood promise is everything i could have hoped for. It made me cry. And laugh. And sometimes both. It threw our hope away, then brought it back at the last moment. It was truly a great book. Rose meets her father, unknowingly at first. We actually see emotion from her mother. We see Adrians true dedication to rose, and how much he honestly cares. The story also included a few flash backs with Dimitri that were not in any of the other books. In this last book, rose definetly became more mature. She made heartbreaking decisions. & blood promise, like shadow kissed, left us with a major cliff hanger...But hope still hangs on a thread. I absoluletly loved this book. Richelle Mead is truly an amazing writer. She managed to make this book perfect, and it was never corny.

I'm also really curious what will happen with Adrian, who I feel so guilty for loving. I feel like I'm cheating on my boyfriend, Dimitri everytime I laugh, smile, and swoon over Adrian. He really is a great character and he has come so far in the last couple books. And Lissa & Christian, they better get their shit together or I'll be really upset!

“I’d said it before and meant it: Alive or undead, the love of my life was a badass.”

Salvation has its price.

The words stunned Adrian for a moment, but he kept going. "You're lying. What you're describing is impossible. There's no way to save a Strigoi. When they're gone, they're gone. They're dead. Undead. Forever." Robert's next words weren't directed at Adrian. They were spoken to me. "That which is dead doesn't always stay dead...."

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Siberia, Dimitri’s birthplace, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s — and to her best friend, Lissa Dragomir. It's graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives outside of the Academy’s cold iron gates to finally begin. But even with the intrigue and excitement of court life looming, Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri. He's out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance, and now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and she knows in her heart that he is hunting her. And if Rose won't join him, he won't rest until he's silenced her...forever.

But Rose can't forget what she learned on her journey — whispers of a magic too impossible and terrifying to comprehend. A magic inextricably tied to Lissa that could hold the answer to all of Rose's prayers, but not without devastating consequences. Now Rose will have to decide what — and who — matters most to her. And in the end, is true love really worth the price?

First of all I’d just like to say that Spirit Bound was by far the best book I have ever read – not just in this series but ever!

Well worth the wait.

There was so much going on in this book, right from the first chapter. I found myself yelling out loud “Oh My God!” and at times I couldn't believe my own eyes, some of the events happening in this book were totally beyond words.

I know I’ve said this in almost every review but seriously, I really love Rose! She is so determined and would do anything for the people she loves. She’s strong – especially in situations where the people she loves most in the world turn their back on her.

“You don’t understand what it’s like coming through what I did – coming back from being a Strigoi. It’s changed everything. It’s not just that what I did to you is unforgiveable. All my feelings… my emotions for you... they changed. I don’t feel the way I used to. I might be a Dhampir again, but after what I went through… well, it’s scared me. It altered my soul. I can’t love anyone now. I can’t – I don’t – love you. There’s nothing more between you and me.

And then there is of course Dimitri, oh my god, Dimitri! He broke my heart in Blood Promise and Spirit Bound wasn't any easier. At times I really felt like punching him. I still love him and have hope that Rose and Dimitri will end up together(and they in the end).

The end was as I expected it to be, a cliff hanger. But I’m really glad that Abe was the one to come to Rose’s side as her “lawyer” in his gray cashmere suit (Abe, another character I just love to bits).

Every possible thing I could have imagined in Spirit Bound, all of the fanciful thoughts dancing around in my dreamers mind, paled in comparison.
My thoughts on what this wonderful installment would hold after reading Blood Promise were. . .promising. I suppose that everything I believed, my thoughts about Viktoria(Dimitri's sister) and Adrian were altered, the beautiful and dreamlike ressurection of my sweetest, truest Dimka, and Rose and Lissa's constant fight with the effects of spirit were all put to rest. Actually, in retrospect they weren't quite put to rest, only quenched slightly by the relief of reading Spirit Bound.

It all comes down to now.

The Queen is dead and the Moroi world will never be the same.

Rose Hathaway is awaiting wrongful execution and there exists only one man who can stall this terrible fate. Rose must look to both Dimitri and Adrian, the two great loves of her life, to find him.

With her best friend, Lissa, in a deadly struggle for the royal throne, the girls find themselves forced to rely upon enemies and questioning those they thought could trust...

But what if true freedom means sacrificing the most important thing of all?

Each other.

Where do I start? This book was just perfect. Oh,I'm sorry,it was MUCH MORE than perfect! I loved it! It had everything! Adventure, romance, fights, agony, everything. It was like, every page that I turned, something new happened, something that blew me away.
I have loved Richelle Mead's writing since I read the first book of Vampire Academy series and I knew that this book would be as good as the previous books. But it was better than the other books. It was the best book. Well,in some pages it was perdictable what would happen next but in some other pages,I couldn't imagine what would happen next.
About the characters now. Rose was so brave and able to sacrifice everything for the people she loves.
About Dimitri now...Oh my god,Dimitri. I have fallen in love with him since the first book, because he's just so perfect. His relationship with Rose is just flawless and I love it. They are obviously made for each other and I'm glad that they understood this. The last pages of the book were just perfect. I loved how caring Dimitri was.
For the other characters now. They were all perfect!
The only thing I was sad about was the heartbreak between Andrian and Rose. It shouldn't have happened like that. Andrian got obviously really hurt and the things which said to Rose made me cry, seriously. Even though I didn't want Rose to end up with Andrian but yes it was very sad.

The best book in the series by far. At times it took my breath away. I'm completely content with how the series ended. It put a smile on my face that I don't think is going to be gone very soon. I loved this series, and honestly don't think it could have ended on a better note. I loved this book so freakin much!!! Dimitri and Rose were made for each other! I was so scared for them! But they made it through and now they're together and now my life complete!!! The whole series is just great! I couldn't even breath half the time! I can not wait for this spin off series. I'm so excited to see whose tragic love story we'll all be obsessing over this time.
