This Week's Question:
What were some of your favorite picture books as a kid? If you have kids, what are your favorites to read to them?
I don't have kid yet because I'm young obviously :D But I have a niece. Her name is Yağmur. Yes this name so foreign,I know because it's Turkish name and I'm Turkish. Anyway, I love her so much she's 5 years old now and she started to kindergarten!!
She live far from my home in these days I haven't see her *sob* she's just so cute!! And I can show her picture to you guys :D
I'm so jealous her hair :D I have a choppy hair she has a curly hair,it's unfair :( Is she cute?
She's not learn to read yet but I and my mom already buy her a tons books and I'll buy when I see book in the bookshop.
Honestly I don't like new kid stories I wanna buy her old stories like Heidi, alice in wonderland or Red riding hood.
Same thing available for my kid/kids. Of course I planned all thing :D
When they 8-9 years old They are going to read or I read them Harry Potter,Hobbit bla, bla.
What were some of your favorite picture books as a kid?
Well I always like to read Grimm Stories. All of them.
And I love to read Gulliver's Travels,Robinson Crusoe too.
There's a lot book ı love to read and many book my favorite but I'm 19 now,I can't remember everything in my childhood but I'm sure I reread them when I have kids.
Tell me your favorites and don't forget to leave a comment :)

Hi Lucie I'm glad you agreed with me :D
DeleteHi Amanda Thanks :D
ReplyDeleteAww, she's sweet! I do the same for my niece. Every Christmas I buy her a new book. Haven't bought her Grimm Fairy Tales yet since she's only turning 5. Grimm might be too much for her...but I did buy her a children's random assortment of fairy tales! Last year I bought her a book called Ella Bella Ballerina and the Sleeping Beauty...or something like that! Her name is Ella, nickname Ella Bella, and she is a dancer, among other things so I thought it was perfect!
ReplyDeleteThis year I bought her an American Girl Bitty Baby book that is something about dancing too! And it comes with a bunny for the Bitty Baby! Since she has one of those as well!
Here's my Follow Friday
Have a GREAT weekend!

ReplyDeleteTraci @ Mad Hatter Reads
I am *completely* jealous of her hair!
ReplyDeleteThere are some new versions of old classics that I really like that you could buy her.
There's a version of "The Princess & The Pea" by Lauren Child with REALLY cool artwork:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Princess-Pea-Lauren-Child/dp/0786838868
One by Gail Carson Levine called "Betsy Red Hoodie":
http://www.amazon.com/Betsy-Hoodie-Gail-Carson-Levine/dp/0061468703
Another, which is so silly, called "Goldilocks and the Three Hares":
http://www.amazon.com/Goldie-Three-Hares-Margie-Palatini/dp/0061253146
And a seriously laugh-out-loud ridiculous book about a hard-of-hearing Rapunzel. As someone who mishears people ALL of the time, I really, really like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Falling-For-Rapunzel-Leah-Wilcox/dp/0142403997
And - this is an original story, not a retelling, but it's GORGEOUS and has such a positive, feminist message. "The Red Wolf" by Margaret Shannon:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Red-Wolf-Margaret-Shannon/dp/0618055444
And oh gosh, one more magical picture book. "The Boy Who Grew Flowers":
